RISE with SAP Is Now the Path to Cloud, Advanced Financials, and AI-Based Solutions for SAP Customers

This IDC Market Note discusses announcements by SAP on changes to its RISE with SAP program in a press release on October 11, 2023. The announcements included a 2023 release and road map for S/4HANA Cloud, private edition; five key AI use cases for S/4HANA Cloud; and changes to RISE with SAP licensing, including a new "Premium Plus" package."SAP has taken decisive steps to simply and streamline its portfolio. It is directing all new customers to RISE with SAP (for those buying S/4HANA Cloud, private edition) and to GROW with SAP (for net-new mid-market customers with preference for S/4HANA Cloud, public edition). While this simplification is a strong positive, it creates a significant task for SAP to cater for those that have migrated to S/4HANA On Premise and do not have access to some of the strategic innovations in the RISE program," said Bo Lykkegaard, associate VP, European Software Research at IDC.
