This IDC Perspective explains why network detection and response (NDR) platforms are an important addition to businesses that operate their own security operations. The good news is that over time, the price of these appliances will likely fall and become a practical purchase for relatively small companies because the quality of security automations allows for strong cross-platform integrations, and the quality of analytics continues to improve over time. We say this even as GenAI is only in its nascent stages of use in cybersecurity technologies.
