Microsoft Enhances Low-Code Development Tools for Multidisciplinary Development Teams at Build 2022

This IDC Market Perspective looks at this year's Build 2022 developer conference, where Microsoft announced enhancements to its low-code development tools for developing websites (Power Pages), apps (Power Apps express design), and virtual agents (Power Virtual Agents). All three announcements are intended to eliminate pain points in the design and prototyping phase of the development process. These announcements demonstrate the company's commitment to providing low-code development tools in different modalities for different parts of the Power Platform, each designed to reflect the different development styles and developer skill sets of multidisciplinary teams building websites, apps, and virtual agents, which can include subject matter experts, line-of-business developers, UX designers and developers, and command-line developers."Microsoft's new low-code development tools can help alleviate pressure on command-line developers at a time when there is a significant global shortage of such highly skilled employees," said Michele Rosen, research manager for Low-Code, No-Code, and Intelligent Developer Technologies at IDC.
