U.S. MFP Forecast, 2022–2026

U.S. MFP Forecast, 2022–2026

This IDC study quantifies the U.S. multifunction printer market opportunity in detail, analyzing issues, trends, and product advances in this market. Unit shipments, value of shipments, and average selling value (ASV) information is presented. Data for 2016–2021 is actual, whereas data for 2022–2026 is projected. "The supply chain issues that suppressed supply in the face of growing demand during the second half of 2021 are expected to continue through at least mid-2022, after which MFP vendors must be prepared to serve pent-up demand. The forecast anticipates a surge in shipments in late 2022 and early 2023, though another supply chain disruption would delay that, before the market returns to its long-term trajectory. Ultimately, the greatest growth opportunity lies in moderately priced, business-class color laser and inkjet MFPs designed to meet the needs of remote or hybrid workers and post-pandemic workplaces." — Geoffrey Wilbur, research manager, Print Industry Forecasts, IDC
