Low Code/No Code: Asia/Pacific Market Trends, Best Practices, and Applications
This IDC Perspective provides analyst insights into the low-code/no-code market trends and best practices driving digital innovation across the Asia/Pacific (AP) region. The trend of low-code development is prevailing among AP organizations, enabling them to use easy programming codes for applications by leveraging graphical user interfaces in compliance with digital innovation and DevOps. According to IDC's Asia/Pacific Software Survey 2022, 40.9% of Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) (APEJ) organizations give more developer duties to non-IT staff (e.g., using low-code or no-code techniques) to address any shortfall in development skills across the company. IDC expects that this changed dynamics of teams and integrated development solution will allow businesses to focus on critical value-added tasks, thereby accelerating their digital innovation efforts significantly. "Talent recruitment and upskilling are at the top of the agenda for organizations looking to address the skill gap in the digitally growing Asia/Pacific market. The nature of low-code and no-code platforms is intuitive, and it could encourage and support more people to get into the application development process, thereby reducing the digital skills gap," says Dhiraj Badgujar, senior research manager, IDC Asia/Pacific's Future of Digital Innovation practice and DevOps Program.
