This IDC study presents a five-year forecast for the U.S. laser A3/A4 MFP market. Unit shipments, value of shipments, and average selling value (ASV) information is presented. Data for 2018–2023 is actual, whereas data for 2024–2028 is projected. Shipments, value of shipments, and ASVs in this study match data reported in IDC's 1Q24 Worldwide Hardcopy Peripherals Tracker Forecast."Although A3 gained share in 2023, the market began to return to its long-term trend, with A4 again gaining share from A3 by the fourth quarter of 2023, a trend that continued in the first quarter of 2024. In addition, the shift from monochrome to color is expected to continue. Therefore, over the forecast period, A4 color laser MFPs offer the greatest opportunity for growth," says Geoffrey Wilbur, research manager, Imaging, Printing, and Document Solutions group at IDC.
