Japan IoT Security Solution Market Forecast, 2023–2026
This study analyzes the Japan Internet of Things (IoT) security solutions market and provides forecasts for the period 2023–2026. Service interruptions caused by distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks using IoT devices as a springboard are a pressing risk that can disrupt the business of companies and organizations, similar to ransomware attacks targeting IT systems. Compared with IT devices, security for IoT devices is greatly at risk because of inadequate configuration by administrators and lack of protection measures, such as neglecting vulnerabilities and leaving passwords at default settings even though they are published on a global IP. The impact of IoT devices is increasing because of the expansion of businesses and operations using IoT devices, and of the urgency to raise awareness of the need for security measures at the same level as IT systems. As a security measure for a wide variety of IoT systems, it is important to ensure security in the entire IoT ecosystem for devices that cannot be handled by predefined security, based on the principle of design and development that take security into account."IoT suppliers are expected to provide effective security solutions not only for devices and networks, but also for the entire ecosystem, including edge servers and clouds that collect and analyze data, and the data they handle," says Kenichi Akama, research Manager, Infrastructure and Devices, IDC Japan.
