Infor: An Enterprise Applications Giant Quietly Innovating and Moving to SaaS

This IDC Market Note discusses information shared at a briefing to IDC's European analysts by Infor spokespersons, focusing on the commercial progress since its acquisition as well as product- and technology-related developments. Infor has started major strides toward SaaS several years ago, and now under Koch Enterprises ownership (a manufacturing conglomerate that acquired Infor in April 2020 for $13 billion), it has accelerated its cloud transition."Its status as a privately owned entity since 2020 has enabled Infor to transition toward SaaS ERP as the primary and mainstream software delivery model of the company. This enables the company to focus R&D on essentially one main codebase per ERP product line, thus accelerating product development and innovation," said Bo Lykkegaard, Associate VP of Software Research, IDC Europe.
