IDC PlanScape: Student Engagement Strategies for Higher Education

IDC PlanScape: Student Engagement Strategies for Higher Education

This IDC PlanScape was drafted to provide a new definition of student engagement and to provide higher education leaders with guidance for how to craft more effective and holistic student engagement strategies. "In the face of declining enrollments, higher education leaders are seeking enhanced capabilities to more effectively engage their students," said Matthew Leger, research manager for IDC's Worldwide Education Digital Transformation Strategies program. "Unfortunately, there is not one clear, universal definition of what student engagement really is and how to execute a student engagement strategy. This research is an important first step in helping create a clearer definition of student engagement and provide institutions with critical guidance to improve student experiences at their institutions."
