IDC Perspective: Communications and Belonging — New Frontiers for Rewards and Recognition
This IDC Perspective looks at how modern recognition systems build digital communities across the workforce enabling organizations to understand how employees are networking, assembling, relating, and connecting. Collective feedback is pivotal to the VoE data environment as it enables organizations to digest the scale of needed changes or programming as they seek to bolster engagement, productivity, and performance while hedging against employee stress, exclusion, isolation, and diminution. As an integrated system of praise and indirect feedback, recognition goes hand in hand with formal VoE resources to drive a similar value-add profile to the improvement of organizational diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB). "As organizations face calls to improve on operational efficiency, large-scale change projects in DEIB are facing uphill battles to continue on the basis of their ROI," says Zachary Chertok, research manager for employee experience, "While expansive DEIB may be losing its luster, HR and LOB managers are rightfully reluctant to give up on structural DEIB. Efficiency is driving them to turn to their datasets to learn from the workforce what its capacity and need are for change and then engineering to meet both while setting up for the next incremental advancements."
