IDC Market Note: Supercomputing 2022

This IDC Market Note highlights some of the announcements and demonstrations by participants at SC22, specific to use cases and workloads such as artificial intelligence (AI), high-performance computing (HPC), big data and analytics (BD&A), and engineering/technical applications. SC22 represented an explosion of exciting technologies from vendors and other organizations (supercomputing centers, academia, mainstream enterprise, start-ups, and partnerships), all sharing the same floor at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. The conference demonstrated a wide range of use cases that touch on every aspect of human life and experience. But most notable were the many partnerships — a healthy sign that most parties in the HPC and AI space agree that pushing the boundaries of research and technology requires creative collaborations.
