This IDC market note discusses the recent announcement by Nova Labs, the company behind the Helium Network, that it had closed a new round of funding that valued the company at $1.2 billion and included notable European telecom-industry players Deutsche Telekom, Nokia and Liberty Global. The Helium Network is a global LoRaWAN network currently comprising more than 700,000 access points that uses cryptocurrency rewards to incentivize individuals to deploy network coverage.
