Hardcopy Vendor Financials, 4Q22: Shipments Surge as Supply Chains Begin to Improve
This IDC Market Perspective contains excerpts from public financial disclosures by leading hardcopy vendors and discusses the impact of inflation, economic uncertainty, and supply chain issues on performance and forecasts."In the fourth quarter of 2022, hardcopy vendors rebounded from a weak third quarter. On the surface, year-over-year revenue growth also appeared strong, but much of that growth was attributable to a weakening yen. The late-year COVID-19 outbreak in China is likely to impact supply chain in the first quarter of 2023, pausing supply chain recoveries. Barring another supply shock, the print hardware market is expected to emerge from supply shortages during the second half of 2023." — Geoffrey Wilbur, research manager, Imaging, Printing, and Document Solutions at IDC
