Enterprise Internet of Things Security Solution in the Asia/Pacific (Excluding Japan) Region
This IDC Perspective discusses the various security solutions that enterprises adopt to protect their Internet of Things (IoT) infrastructure. According to IDC's Worldwide Security Spending Guide, spending on security hardware, services, and software in Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) (APEJ) was estimated to reach US$23.1 billion in 2021, up 12.6% from that in the previous year. Increased cloud use, large work-from-home (WFH) migration, and corporate transformation programs to tackle operational issues are driving this expansion. The increased emphasis on smart infrastructures, such as expanded network coverage, 5G deployment, public Wi-Fi zones, smart grid and programs such as Smart Cities, Industry 4.0, and special economic zones, is the key driving force for IoT security services growth in APEJ.According to Piyush Singh, senior market analyst, IDC's IoT Insights Team, "As the region embraces digital transformation, the most pressing concerns are maximizing and safeguarding varied cloud resources/data sets. To strengthen their overall security posture, businesses must examine or rebuild their complete security architecture stack."
