Embedded Payments — Acceptance

Embedded Payments — Acceptance

This IDC Perspective discusses the other side of the card payment ecosystem: acceptance. The concept of embedded financial services continues to find traction across multiple industries. IDC believes that embedded financial services are an evolutionary step in the process of what will ultimately be an open environment in which the roles of multiple heterogeneous industries will come together to provide value to customers, both consumers and businesses. Embedded payment acceptance will be a key part of that evolution."Accepting payments has long been a complex process for all players in the value chain," says Aaron Press, research director, Worldwide Payment Strategies, IDC. "The move toward embedded payment acceptance strategies, enabled by new technologies and ecosystems, is creating new threats and opportunities for merchants, platforms, processors, and banks."
