It looks into market conditions and what buyers will look for in a data classification solution.IDC research has found buyers are willing to spend on data classification tools as they see it as fulfilling multiple use cases. However, they would rather consume the capability as a feature in an existing product than as a standalone product. "Knowing what you have lets you leverage your data for analytics and AI, confidently say you're meeting compliance, and quickly determine if criminals have stolen anything useful," said Johnny Yu, research manager at IDC. "The best place to incorporate such a future is in a system that touches all of an organization's data, such as backup or archiving."
