Cloud Success for AWS Will Continue to be Data Driven, With Sustainability and Generative AI at the Heart
This IDC Market Perspective discusses some of the key points presented by AWS during its EMEA Analyst Forum held in London in June. The company said its customers are continuing to experience significant returns when moving to cloud, despite ongoing economic and geopolitical uncertainties. AWS believes its success is based in developing partnerships with clients that start with identifying their business needs and then using cloud services and technologies to achieve those needs. This will remain a key tenet for the firm as it moves toward an increasingly data-driven future that keeps sustainability and now AI at its heart. "AWS should maintain its current course by focusing on cloud as a business enabler and engaging with all stakeholders across customer organizations," said Carla Arend, associate vice president, IDC's European Cloud Research practice. "Rather than presenting itself as a vendor, the company sets out to be a partner to its customers. This is important not just at the outset of a cloud migration, but throughout the cloud journey when the customer is looking for scalability, flexibility, and extra support. With AI as a top agenda for much of the industry, all this is likely to become more crucial, and it's good to see AWS looking beyond the hype and focusing on the real-world applications of the technology in an industry context."
