The impact of the cloud on the evolution of the Latin American technology procurement ecosystem and distribution channel is indisputable. Given this situation, IDC believes that there must be a collaborative approach where vendors redesign their partner programs to help partners of all profiles to overcome challenges such as shifting from CAPEX to OPEX among others that impact their businesses. Cloud suppliers must create ecosystems that democratize the distribution of technology and helps the channel adopt the cloud and novel ways of meeting clients’ needs in a customer-centric era. On their side, partners must be open to evolve and adapt to novel technologies and business models.“The success of the new IT business models is a responsibility of every member in the distribution supply chain; from cloud suppliers to partners of all profiles there must be understanding and will to evolve. A key driver for this relies on the organizations’ shift toward a customer-centric mindset, which leverages applications in the cloud to achieve competitive and satisfactory customer experiences,” Enrique Phun, Senior Analyst, Enterprise, Software, Data & Analytics, Latin America.
