Building the Regulatory Framework for 5G Mobile Private Networks in Asia/Pacific

This IDC Market Note investigates the status of regulatory frameworks around 5G mobile private networks (MPN) in Asia/Pacific. The 2022–2025 period will see the growth of 5G MPN in Asia/Pacific, led by China, Japan, South Korea, and Australia, as enterprises can experience the benefits of 5G standalone via private networks. The business model will typically resemble a managed leasing structure. MPN 5G core implementation will adopt a cloud-native architecture to support a different combination of on-premises (local edge) and edge/cloud and introduce software-defined networking across all active domains and applications.
