Asia/Pacific Cloud Adoption Trends in 2023 and Beyond for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses and Midmarket Companies

This IDC Market Perspective explores the cloud adoption of plans of small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and midmarket companies for the next 12–18 months, which will increasingly impact their business growth and resilience. Companies are migrating their workloads to the cloud, making cloud technology a must-have post-pandemic. In New Zealand, most companies stated they will adopt a mostly public cloud approach. Midmarket companies (500–999 employees), which are mostly from South Korea and Australia, said they favor a hybrid cloud approach. Companies from both segments said they plan to allocate around 34% of their overall budget to infrastructure as a service platforms (IaaS) as they look to manage and control critical parts of their businesses without having to spend on datacenters and physical servers.
