Animal AgTech Innovation Summit 2022 — Data, Trust, and Technology

Animal AgTech Innovation Summit 2022 — Data, Trust, and Technology

This IDC Market Note discusses the key takeaways from the Animal AgTech Innovation Summit in San Francisco that took place on March 21. The event was an interesting mix of dogma, technology, strategy, and potential. Technologies around environmental services, genetics, and computer vision were presented. While these issues are showy and deserve attention, the underlying currency of all of these approaches will be the collection, recording, analysis, and reporting of data. This data can be used to create more value to the customers and build new markets. Unfortunately, this data will be impossible to collect if farmers do not benefit directly or, worse, if they cannot trust those collecting it.
