AI Acceptance and Burnout: What Cybersecurity Can Learn from Healthcare

AI Acceptance and Burnout: What Cybersecurity Can Learn from Healthcare

This IDC Perspective examines recent healthcare research on the association between AI use and burnout as well as what these research findings mean for cybersecurity professionals and adoption of AI. This document reviews what pieces of information contribute to trust in AI and automation technologies, and how these additional pieces of information can and should be used to improve AI acceptance, thus mitigating the potential for burnout. "AI technologies, like all technologies, can present us with unintended consequences from use. As research on these unintended consequences continues, we'll likely see an increase in discussions on user experience design, management of alert fatigue, and increased workflow research to refine and improve the experience of AI and automation technologies across industries," said Grace Trinidad, research director, Trust Measurement and Metrics at IDC.
