AGL's Infrastructure Transformation: TCS, NetApp, and Commvault Collaboration Delivers a Hybrid Cloud for a Sustainable Digital Business Future

AGL Energy (AGL) is an Australian integrated energy company and essential service provider with the largest electricity generation portfolio in the country. This IDC Perspective discusses the key learnings from the optimization of IBM storage into NetApp All Flash FAS (AFF), Cloud volumes ONTAP (CVO), and Azure NetApp Files (ANF) for storage along with Commvault solutions for data archiving. These insights were gleaned from a one-hour group call interview conducted with Giles Riddell, hosting and infrastructure services delivery manager at AGL.According to Dr. Glen Duncan, associate research director, Datacenter, IDC Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) (APEJ), "AGL's on-premises IBM storage optimization along with storage migration from on-premises to NetApp CVO and ANF is an excellent example in which preexisting relationships between enterprises and their IT partners matter. Close cooperation and collaboration between AGL, TCS, and NetApp ensured a successful storage optimization along with cloud storage migration; and AGL is now able to enjoy all the benefits of cloud including scalability, flexibility, and consumption-based pricing models that result in significant savings."
