Tactical & Service Clothing Manufacturing in the US - Industry Market Research Report
Tactical & Service Clothing Manufacturing in the US
Over the past five years, the Tactical and Service Clothing Manufacturing industry has fought an uphill battle against economic fluctuations and the rise of lower-cost imports from Southeast and East Asia. Simultaneously, increased demand from the US military and local and state governments provided some relief. Nonetheless, the sudden economic downturn following the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020 led industry demand and revenue to dramatically decrease. COVID19 did, however, massively increase demand from the downstream healthcare market, as millions required healthcare services; this, in turn, shielded the industry from any further declines. As a result, revenue has fallen at a CAGR of 4.1% to $766.9 million over the five years to 2023, though will stagnate in 2023, when profit reaches 3.9% that same year.
This industry primarily manufactures tactical apparel for the personal, military and service (e.g. police and fire service) markets. Service apparel also includes garments made for patients, waiters and other service workers. Tactical apparel describes clothing with specialized functions such as fire protection, puncture resistance, high visibility and water repellence. The industry does not include manufacturers of safety equipment such as body armor and bulletproof vests.
This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
