Sand & Gravel Mining in the US - Industry Market Research Report
Sand & Gravel Mining in the US
Sand and gravel miners excavate and undertake basic processing of sand and gravel used in construction aggregates and industrial applications (some examples include road building, landscaping, snow and ice control and hydrocarbon extraction). Miners are highly susceptible to infrastructure investment, construction activity and oil and gas extraction. Using industrial sand and gravel for unconventional drilling techniques has offered a new element for miners. Even so, falling oil and gas prices in 2020 significantly hindered revenue. While construction activity was the lone bright spot for most of the period, industry-wide revenue has been falling at a CAGR of 2.4% to $18.2 billion in 2023, where revenue contracted by 1.5%.
This industry comprises operators involved in mining and quarrying sand and gravel, along with clays, and ceramic and refractory minerals. Industry activity may include the beneficiation of these minerals by washing, screening and otherwise preparing the mined sand, gravel and clays.
This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
