Plumbers in the US - Industry Market Research Report
Plumbers in the US
Plumbers provide an essential service to the construction and renovation of nonresidential buildings, which is the industry's primary market. This market encompasses investments in office buildings, hospitals, factories, power plants, retail stores, schools and entertainment centers. The economic fallout related to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 significantly reduced activity within this sector, as new construction projects were halted or postponed because of government-mandated establishment closures. However, as the unemployment rate decreased in 2021 because of the widespread distribution of COVID-19 vaccines and the resulting reopening of the economy, activity within this sector has rebounded. Recently decreased activity in the industry has been because nonresidential projects take an extended amount of time to complete. Because plumbing, along with electrical work are the last things to be installed in a new structure, the stall in commercial construction over the pandemic has meant this market segment has taken longer to improve.
Industry contractors install and maintain plumbing fixtures, fittings and equipment. Industry activities include work on household pipes and drains, installation of gas cooking and heating appliances and work on bathroom and toilet fixtures and venting systems. Emergency repair work (e.g. unclogging drains or repairing burst water mains) represents a significant source of industry revenue. Contractors may also supply plumbing appliances and coupling products for construction projects.
This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
