A precursor is a liquid or solid chemical that is used to deposit a thin film on a substrate by a process called Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) or Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD). A VCC can measure the partial pressure of the precursor in the gas stream by using a Non Dispersive Infrared (NDIR) technology and adjust the total pressure by using a valve to keep the concentration constant. This can improve the stability and reproducibility of the CVD or MOCVD process.
