A membrane pressure transmitter is a pressure transmitter that uses a membrane as its elastic element. It is a common and widely used pressure measurement device.

The elastic element of the thin film pressure transmitter is usually made of thin film material (such as silicon or stainless steel), which has good elasticity and flexibility. This membrane is placed on the side of the medium under pressure and bends or deforms under the pressure.

When the pressure of the measured medium acts on the film, the film produces a strain change. Strain gauges (usually metal foil or resistance wire) are attached to the membrane and measure and convert the strain of the membrane into an electrical signal. This change in resistance value is usually converted to a standard analog signal (such as voltage or current) and output to a control system or data acquisition device.
