A surface mount humidity sensor is a sensor that pastes the surface of the humidity sensor component directly on the surface of a circuit board or other equipment. Such sensors typically use a capacitive-based measurement principle to output an electrical signal by measuring the humidity in the surrounding environment. Surface mount humidity sensors usually consist of a sheet-like base material and a film-like sensing layer coated with a moisture-absorbing polymer material. The output signal of the sensor can be connected to a microcontroller or other electronic equipment for signal processing.
