The IVL system perfectly combines sonic calcification fracturing technology with a balloon catheter to provide unfocused, circular and pulsed mechanical energy to calcified plaques during low-pressure expansion of the balloon to efficiently and safely destroy vascular calcified plaques and reduce calcification. Plaques are multiple and minutely fragmented or loose without affecting the integrity of the vascular intima, thereby significantly improving vascular compliance.
