Highly reactive polyisobutylene (HIPP) is a polymer made from the polymerization of isobutylene monomer (isopentene). It usually has a highly branched structure and therefore has good fluidity, cold resistance and elasticity. HIPP is commonly used in the rubber industry, especially in tire manufacturing. It can be used as one of the components of tire compounds to help improve tire performance such as wear resistance, fatigue resistance and aging resistance.
