High definition electronic cholangioscopy (HDEC) is a medical program used to examine and treat liver and pancreatic bile ducts. This is an endoscopic surgery that uses specialized cameras and imaging systems to provide high-resolution images of the bile ducts. In HDEC surgery, a flexible tube called an endoscope is inserted into the patient's mouth and guided downwards along the esophagus into the stomach and small intestine.
