The collimated output fiber isolator is an optical device used to convert the optical fiber input beam into a collimated beam and achieve one-way transmission. It usually consists of a polarizer, a magneto-optical crystal and a polarizing beam splitter. The main function of the fiber isolator is to prevent the reversely transmitted beam from entering the fiber while maintaining the collimation of the fiber input. It can effectively isolate the light beam between the optical fiber input and output, prevent reflection and interference of optical signals, and improve the performance and stability of the optical fiber system. The working principle is to rotate the input beam through the magneto-optical effect of the magneto-optical crystal so that it is perpendicular to the output direction of the polarizing beam splitter. In this way, the beam transmitted in the reverse direction will be separated and absorbed by the polarizing beam splitter, while the beam transmitted in the forward direction can be collimated and output. Collimated output fiber isolators have many advantages, such as high isolation, low insertion loss, wide bandwidth, good stability, etc. It is widely used in fields such as optical communications, fiber optic sensing, laser systems, and optical measurements to protect fiber optic systems from reflections and interference and improve system performance and reliability.
