In January 2019, Vale established an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center at the Tubarao site in Vitoria, Brazil. The center aims to explore and deploy disruptive cognitive technologies in all the horizons of the business to achieve safety and more savings.
Vale S.A. formed the Vale Institute of Technology (ITV) that focuses on trends, opportunities, or problems in the areas of science and technology catering to effective ways of providing mineral resources.
In February 2021, Vale collaborated with MIT Professional Education, MIT Environmental Solutions Initiative, SENAI CIMATEC and start-up accelerator. The Bakery to accelerate development of innovative technological solutions for competitive and sustainable growth in the mining industry through an initiative called MINE Program.
