The primary purpose of the Spark Innovation Studio is to showcase the implementation of emerging technologies as real-world examples and help solve business challenges.
  • In 2020, Spark NZ and Cisco joined hands to create a 5G Innovation Hub in New Zealand to enhance the connectivity efforts in the region. The hub provides a collaborative workspace allowing local entrepreneurs to work in collaboration with Cisco’s programmable networking technology within a 5G sandbox for exploring and creating new ideas.
  • Spark NZ has increased its budget by NZD35 million to accelerate the 5G roll-out, thereby boosting the total mobile connectivity investment to NZD125 million in FY22 and catering 5G network services to most of the population by FY23. With the accelerated 5G network expansion, the company intends to upgrade 4G network to meet the increasing demand for data and faster mobile connectivity.
