The government plans to produce five million electric vehicles (EVs) in Spain by 2030 through its National Energy and Climate Plan 2021-2030 (NECP), which was announced in 2021. Growth over the forecasted period will be also supported by the revised National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP), in which the government aims to have 214GW of total installed capacity in the electricity sector by 2030, with 160GW derived from renewable energy sources and 22GW from storage.
