Global small-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) liquefaction capacity is expected to grow by 26% over the next four years, potentially increasing from 35,390 thousand tonnes per annum (ktpa) in 2022 to 44,740 ktpa in 2026. Among regions, Asia is expected to witness the highest small-scale LNG liquefaction capacity additions globally from new build and expansion projects during the outlook period 2022 to 2026 with 3,850 ktpa. The Former Soviet Union (FSU) follows with 2,980 ktpa of capacity to be added by 2026.
