Summary

GlobalData has revised upwards the estimated growth for Slovenia’s construction industry in 2022, with the industry now expected to grow by 10.1% in real terms this year, compared to the earlier estimate of 4.9%. This upward revision is attributed to a better-than-expected performance in the third quarter of this year, with the industry’s value add having expanded by 10.4% year on year (YoY) in Q3 2022, following growth of 7.7% in Q2 and 7.8% in Q1 2022. Cumulatively, the industry registered an annual growth of 8.7% in real terms in the first nine months of 2022.

The Slovenian construction industry is expected to rebound in 2025 and register an annual average rate of 3.2% during 2025-26, supported by investment in transportation and energy projects under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF). Through the RRF, Slovenia will receive an allocation of EUR2.5 billion ($3 billion) in financial support until 2026, which will support construction output over the forecast period. Of the total, EUR230 million ($274.8 million) will be used to finance large-scale renovation programs to increase the energy efficiency of public buildings, including schools.
