A major factor contributing to this ability is the use of data and genomics to tailor healthcare plans to each patient. This involves finding the best possible drugs and procedures for the patient and extends to prevention and diagnosis. At present, precision and personalized medicine is most often used in oncology. However, there are many other diseases and areas in medicine that would benefit significantly from this medical model.
