Global Bioethanol Market 2023-2029
Bioethanol is an alcohol made by microbial fermentation, mostly from carbohydrates produced in sugar- or starch-bearing plants such as corn, sugarcane, sweet sorghum or lignocellulosic biomass. The feedstocks undergo fermentation, during which certain species of yeast digest the sugar contained in the feedstocks. The process releases bioethanol and carbon dioxide. Besides alcoholic beverage production, ethanol is also used as an alternative fuel to gasoline for internal combustion engines. It can be mixed with gasoline to any percentage, and all existing gasoline engines on automobiles can operate with blends of up to 10% ethanol with gasoline. According to the latest data, the market size of the global bioethanol sector is expected to rise by 32.1 billion liters with a CAGR of 4.5% by the end of 2029.
