Solar Roofing in the US by Application and Region
US demand for solar roofing is projected to rise rapidly through 2022 to $2.2 billion. The recent update to California’s CALGreen Building Code requiring most new and extensively renovated structures in the state to meet zero net-energy requirement going forward will spur advances. Many home and building owners will install solar roofing to meet these code requirements. Demand for solar roofing will also be supported by consumer interest in using these products to generate electricity and lower their utility bills.

An alternative demand outlook for a period of conditions highly favorable to promoting solar roofing is presented, as is an outlook projecting growth over a period of less favorable regulatory and technological conditions.
