Home Gardening Consumer Insights examines consumer insights and trends in the US regarding gardening activity. Survey data display historical trends and consumer sentiment back to 2013, including examination of the pandemic-era for 2020-2022 and the return to “normal” along with the impacts of the recent inflation-driven economy into 2024. Survey responses in this study reveal consumer trends in gardening activity, including doing outdoor gardening and cultivating indoor plants, buying consumables, and owning gardening equipment. Details of what sort of plants consumers are raising, where and why they are gardening, and how they feel about organic processes and the term “plant parents” are also included in this report. Additionally, consumer insights into home ownership and work-from-home trends as well as changes in wellbeing that could affect ability to or interest in doing their own gardening activity. Consumer opinions on the topics above are analyzed by gender, age group, region, household income, and homeownership status.
