Thermoplastic Resins: United States

Thermoplastic Resins: United States

This report forecasts to 2028 US thermoplastic resin demand and shipments in pounds. Total demand is segmented by resin type in terms of: high-density polyethylene (HDPE); linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE); low-density polyethylene (LDPE); polypropylene (PP); polyvinyl chloride (PVC); polyethylene terephthalate (PET); polystyrene (PS); and other thermoplastic resins such as acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), polycarbonate (PC), nylon, and bioplastics.

To illustrate historical trends, total demand, total shipments, the various segments, and trade are provided in annual series from 2013 to 2023.

Reported quantities of thermoplastic resins are limited to neat, or pure, resin excluding additives or fillers. For the purposes of this report, "thermoplastics" and "thermoplastic resins" are used interchangeably. Re-exports of thermoplastic resins are excluded from demand figures.

Key macroeconomic indicators are also provided with quantified trends. Other various topics, including profiles of pertinent leading companies, are covered in this report. A full outline of report items by page is available in the Table of Contents.
