This report forecasts to 2026 US security services revenue in nominal US dollars. Total revenue is segmented by service in terms of: guard services; alarm monitoring; systems integration; cash-in-transit and related services; and other services such as consulting, private investigation, and pre-employment screening. Total demand is also segmented by market as follows: commercial and industrial, residential, and government and institutional.
To illustrate historical trends, total demand is provided in annual series from 2011 to 2021; the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2011, 2016, and 2021.
Excluded from the scope of this report are: public safety personnel (e.g., police officers, public corrections officers, federal agents, and firefighters); in-house, proprietary security services, such as guards, detectives, and off-duty police officers on the paid staff of (non-security) business establishments; military-style private security providers (sometimes called mercenaries); equipment installation services (aside from systems integration); locksmith activities; security products distribution and sales; and private correctional facility management.
