This report forecasts to 2027 protective packaging demand in nominal US dollars at the manufacturer level in Mexico. Total demand is segmented by product in terms of: flexible, foam, and rigid. Total demand is also segmented by market as follows: durable goods manufacturing, nondurable goods manufacturing, e-commerce, and retail and other markets such as moving companies and businesses.
To illustrate historical trends, total demand is provided in annual series from 2012 to 2022; and the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2012, 2017, and 2022.
Excluded from the scope of this report are active insulated shipping containers employing electricity or other power sources to maintain a temperature-controlled environment inside an insulated enclosure. Retail packaging such as blister packs and clamshells are also excluded. Stretch and shrink hoods used in storage and transportation, and flexible bulk packaging such as shipping sacks, liners, paper roll wrap, and poly tubing roll are excluded as well.
For any given historical year, US dollar amounts are obtained from values expressed in the applicable local currency. These local currency values are converted to US dollars at the average annual exchange rate for that year. For forecast years, the US dollar amounts assume the same annual exchange rate at that prevailing in 2022.
