Pipe: United States

This report forecasts to 2028 US pipe demand in meters and pipe demand and production in nominal US dollars at the manufacturer level. Total demand in meters is segmented by material in terms of: plastic; copper; steel; aluminum; ductile iron; concrete; and other small volume materials such as clay, nickel, and titanium.

Total demand in meters is also segmented by market as follows: construction, industrial, oil and gas, and agricultural.

To illustrate historical trends, total demand in meters is provided in annual series from 2018 to 2023; pipe demand and production by value, and the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2018 and 2023.

For the purposes of this report, pipe is defined as a tubular section or hollow cylinder used primarily to convey substances that can flow – such as liquids and gases (fluids), slurries, powders, and masses of small solids. Although distinctions are sometimes made between pipe and tubes, for the purposes of this report the terms “pipe”, “tube”, and “tubular products” are used interchangeably.

Excluded from the scope of this report are the following: fittings, pipe liners/lining and relining, hoses, valves, and joints.

Key macroeconomic indicators are also provided with quantified trends. Other various topics, including profiles of pertinent leading companies, are covered in this report. A full outline of report items by page is available in the Table of Contents.
