Pipe: United States

Pipe: United States

This report forecasts to 2028 US pipe demand in linear feet. Total demand is segmented by material in terms of: plastic; copper; steel; aluminum; and other materials such as ductile iron, concrete, and clay.

Total demand is also segmented by market as follows: potable water; structural and mechanical; drain, waste, and vent; conduit; and other markets such as oil and natural gas, storm and sanitary sewers, industrial processing, and irrigation.

To illustrate historical trends, total demand is provided in annual series from 2013 to 2023; the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2013, 2018, and 2023.

For purposes of this report, pipe is defined as a tubular section or hollow cylinder used primarily to convey substances that can flow – such as liquids and gases (fluids), slurries, powders, and masses of small solids. Although distinctions are sometimes made between pipe and tubes, for the purposes of this report the terms “pipe”, “tube”, and “tubular products” are used interchangeably.

Excluded from the scope of this report are the following: fittings, fixtures, gutters, downspouts, hoses, and pipe liners/lining and relining.

Key macroeconomic indicators are also provided with quantified trends. Other various topics, including profiles of pertinent leading companies, are covered in this report. A full outline of report items by page is available in the Table of Contents.
