This report forecasts to 2027 US molded fiber – also known as molded pulp – packaging demand and production in nominal US dollars at the manufacturer level. Total demand is segmented by product in terms of: primary and secondary packaging, serviceware, protective packaging, and non-packaging. Total demand is also segmented by market as follows: foodservice; food and beverage packaging; nonfood packaging; and retail sales and other markets, such as agricultural and medical products.
To illustrate historical trends, total demand is provided in annual series from 2012 to 2022; production and the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2012, 2017, and 2022.
In addition to packaging, data for other molded fiber products (for example, floral pots) is included.
This report covers only disposable molded fiber products and packaging. Excluded from the scope of this report are fiber-sourced products that are intended to be reused, such as dinnerware composed of a plastic and fiber composite. Also excluded from this report are packaging products purchased and used outside of the US, even if the packaged product is manufactured for, and shipped to, US customers.
