This report forecasts to 2026 US material handling equipment demand and production in nominal US dollars at the manufacturer level. Total demand is segmented by product in terms of: industrial trucks and tractors; conveying equipment; hoists, cranes, and monorails; automated storage and retrieval systems; and automated guided vehicles (AGVs), related equipment, and software. Total demand is also segmented by market as follows: manufacturing; mining; trade and distribution; construction; and other markets such as agriculture, forestry, and airports.

To illustrate historical trends, total demand is provided in annual series from 2011 to 2021; production and the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2011, 2016, and 2021.

Excluded from the scope of this report are: aerial work platforms; construction-type cranes (mostly mobile and tower cranes), wrecker cranes, and similar items that could be considered material handling equipment; elevators; lift tables; related services, such as equipment maintenance; and spare parts.
