Lodging Services: United States
This report forecasts to 2022 and 2026 US lodging services revenues in nominal US dollars. Total demand is segmented by establishment in terms of: hotels and motels; RV parks, campgrounds, and vacation camps; casino hotels; bed and breakfast inns; and other establishments such as alternative accommodations (e.g., home-shares), cabins, cottages, and hostels.
To illustrate historical trends, total revenues and the various segments are provided in annual series from 2011 to 2021.
Publicly owned campgrounds are excluded from the scope of this report. Rooming and boarding houses, which specialize in providing long-term accommodations, are also excluded. Revenues from non-lodging services are excluded from segment values, as well as from the total. While alternative accommodation platform companies such as Airbnb and Vrbo are excluded from the scope of this report, the revenue collected by the hosts who post properties on those platforms are included.
